This is a inlaid star I made during the construction of our house. It consists of many different types of wood pieces cut into geometric shapes and joined. The surface wood components are 3/8" thick to allow sanding of the floor. The design is then glued down to a 3/8" plywood backer and inlaid into the floor. Woods consist of cherry, walnut, maple, oak, and wenge.
